Description: |
Everyday there’s another security-breaking news item to worry us: phishing, spim, worms, identity theft (OK, they stole a laptop). Going online can make us feel we’re living dangerously, and we need a jargon-translator to even identify the perils we face. But we can’t retreat to a pre-digital age when security meant a strong lockbox (although those weren’t foolproof either) and we’re glad to be in a world where online bill pay saves the planet as well as our precious time.
The good news is that some of the best minds in the best companies are working on making it safer for us, and our families, to work and play online. On June 26, 2008 ATW is pleased to present a panel discussion of experts from premier companies that are working on ways to protect our digital properties and presence.
Come for a fun evening of connecting with Valley professionals and hearing a lively discussion on the latest trends in online safety and why you shouldn’t lose any sleep (yet) about the dangers of the digital world.
The panel will be moderated by Ben Jun, VP of Technology at Cryptography, and member of the Board of Advisors for the RSA Conferences. Panelists include: Jill Argo, Director of Solutions Delivery for Online Services Security & Compliance at Microsoft Hadi Nahari, Principal Security Architect at eBay James Nelson, Senior Manager of Information Security at Juniper Networks Marian Merritt, Internet Safety Advocate at Symantec

Everything is intense in Silicon Valley, your job, your commute, your kids’ activities, your life. Yes, you know that you have to stay healthy – and look good! – to keep pace, but that is easier said than done when you spend most of the day tethered to the computer or driving around in your car, with caffeine and sugar to keep you going.

On Feb 28, ATW presents ‘A Balancing Act’, a panel discussion on healthy living for professionals, moderated by Gillian Verga. OK, we all know that Networking is a ‘must-have’ to a successful career and can even be a terrific way to meet a new friend or significant other. So we make sure we attend a variety of events where we can ‘network’, collect business cards, and consider it done. But networking is more than just meeting someone - it’s what you do after the meeting that delivers results. Surprisingly only 15 – 20% of us follow up after initial meetings and only about 2% of us have a follow up strategy at all!
Here’s what consistent follow up brings us:
* Business opportunities * Career opportunities * Social opportunities * New ideas, ventures, hobbies, and beliefs * Enhanced integrity and credibility * Fortune!!
Join us on January 31, 2007 for a lively session with Networking expert, Kathleen Ronald (www.speaktacular.com) as she leads us though her proven system of ‘Effective Networking Follow Up’. Kathleen is a dynamic speaker who’s back by popular demand following a very successful session last June on the value of Networking.
In this session: * Receive a step-by-step walk-through of Kathleen’s successful follow-up system * Learn how to maximize your Networking ROI * Learn how to customize her model to work for you * Discover the KEY component of her success, now used by only 2% of business people * Get comfortable with being accountable and watch your world open up

Being mentored is a great way to become more productive in any organization. Learning from others is not only efficient development but an essential way to expand career opportunities. You can maximize your potential by demystifying the mentoring process and making it more productive. This workshop uses a practical 4-step process to mentoring that, when applied, accelerates learning and facilitates the smooth transfer of knowledge from those who have it to those who need it.
Mentoring relationships should be 2-way partnerships. As a protégé, you have a role in creating collaboration on both sides of the mentoring relationship. As a result of this workshop, you can create a unique mentoring experience that encourages your participation, and enhances your learning within the mentoring process.

How You Will Receive Lasting Value By attending this 1/2-day workshop and applying the practical information and skills gained, you will: •Understand your role in a mentoring partnership. •Develop learning relationships, and become an active participant in a mentoring partnership. •Learn how to build and expand networks, and contribute to your own development. •Build a cooperative and collaborative partnership with your mentor.
